Family Portraits

Eve is “Star of the Week” in her classroom, starting tomorrow; this honor precipitated a family portrait session. Sounds nice, right?

Um, can I be real clear here… this was HARD work. Three kids to wrangle into a somewhat presentable position and actually stay there?? And then, SMILE? Not so much. But, we did have fun and I was able to capture quite a few really fantastic photos.

I know you’re wondering where we found all the GREEN in NEW MEXICO!!

Well… We may have hijacked a hole at the golf course for our photo session, but, thankfully, no one came around to actually use the course for, you know, golf…

We, of course, had to take a serious, everyone smile, photo for her poster:

But, after all the seriousness we had to take one photo that really captured what we are as a family:

Poor Eliza. I’m pretty sure she’s wondering how she scored so well in the family placement lottery.

Never fear, we’ll get to her soon enough.

    gorgeousness! now here’s my questions. :) 1) are you the mommy with the red hair? i know you’re probably the chick with the red hair elsewhere, but what about at school? :)

    and 2) do you print pictures out and frame them or merely take countless numbers of them.

    i have this problem. lots of photos. no printing. the last time i printed was for Joshua’s funeral. hundreds of photos, none printed. probably closer to thousands… hmm…

    well either way this one deserves framing if you ever get around to it!

    You captured your FAMILY PORTRAIT wonderfully in that 2nd one! We love you guys and miss those silly faces soooooo much. I am totally going to be framing that 1st one and putting it in my house .

    it is impossible to get a really solid everyone look at the camera and smile picture, isn’t it? that’s why i don’t even try for those anymore…. someday! then i’ll be missing these days…

    My brother just did pictures for us a few weeks ago and I know he was NOT able to capture one like your first! It’s beautiful. But the 2nd has personality!!

    Very cute! I took over a 100 pictures when we tried to get our family christmas pictures done.
    Do you have a remote for your camera or did you have some one take it for you?

    that first photo is beautiful!!! the second? how in the world does your hub get his face to do that??? LOL. I know how hard it is to get a decent picture, oh my. We just had our done this summer…but it was really fun too, even if we don’t have one with all 5 of us smiling!

    I love them..we have done the white shirts and jeans too…I’m actually trying to figure out what to wear for beach pics this time next week….I’m looking at me and Miller in red shirts and Madison and Scott in green with so we can send them out at Christmas….what would you do?

    beautiful picture! and family of course!

    I love the white shirts, we did blues and whites when we had our family pic taken last may. I’m hoping the trees still have their fall colors when flyboy returns home for a fall pic.

    You must use the silly picture for your Holiday cards! I think I might try to get a silly picture out of my family, too.
