Good-Bye Little Miss Five

April 25, 2009 | Filed Under Birthday, Eve

I sure will miss the five year old you…

Good-Bye Little Miss Five

More mature, perhaps wiser, not so sentimental people say: Oh, children must grow up! It’s good and right and the way things should be.

They love it, they embrace it, they are happy to see the growing happen.

But not me.

I guess that makes me immature, unwise, and overly sentimental. I like my kids little.

Is it too much to ask that they stop growing up so quickly?

Or at all?

I guess so.

Well.

I can still hate it.

It doesn’t make you immature Andrea…..it makes you a mother! I personally don’t know another mother that wants their children to grow up so fast. I am about to have my oldest graduate and my youngest just turned 15! It flies by so fast. So…enjoy EVERY minute of these years. They are gone before you know it.

I hear what you’re saying – but now that Abby is going on 13 – she’s so fun and beautiful and it’s been a delight to watch her grow up. Perfect? no. But I love the way God is forming this little girl into a … woman! Scary!

    Love you – miss you!

I always wish my kids to stay little….always. I cry at every birthday.

I saw my 6 year old in catcher’s equipment yesterday at his baseball scrimmage – I was so glad I had sunglasses on, so no one could see the tears that built up in my eyes.

    I feel ya ((((HUGS))))
