Cookie Time!

September 6, 2009 | Filed Under Eliza Dove, Photos, Recipe

I’m going to state for the record that Miss Eliza Dove has never met a cookie she didn’t like.

Never. Never ever, ever.

She and I are a lot a like.

Yesterday I made Peanut Butter cookies with chocolate chunks in them. Because pairing chocolate and peanut butter together surely makes the angels sing just a little bit louder. Don’tcha think?

Me too.

I sweetened the cookies with lots of honey and about a quarter of a cup of (unnecessary) raw sugar. I do that so the kids can eat as many of them as they want and I don’t worry about the amount of sugar they are consuming.

Eve and Judah ate about half a cookie. They were more interested in playing. Eliza and I… we didn’t even leave crumbs.

I thought I’d give you a little play by play of Eliza and her cookie. Because…. I can. And because she’s very chubby and cute. And, you know you love her. Besides, she learned how to smile on demand this week and it melts me like butter on a hot knife. And I wanted to share that experience with you.

Cookie…

cookie time!

Cookie, cookie…

cookie time2!

Do you see this cookie? Take a good, long look at it because it is about to be history, baby…

cookie time! 3

I swear, she unhinged her jaw. I mean… wow. Just, wow.

cookie time! 4

Bye, bye!

cookie time! 5

Waste not, want not… she ate every last crumb.

cookie time! 6

What? Do I have something on my face?

cookie time! 7

Smile!

Smile!

Tell me you aren’t feeling a bit like melted butter now too… I just love having my very own (cute as a button!) cookie eating partner!

What’s your favorite kind of cookie?! Mine… Trash cookies (aka: pimped up No Bakes) or my Chocolate Chip or Molasses Crinkles or… I could go on. And on. And on.

Oh my – Eliza just melts my heart. I started giggling and couldn’t stop at the pictures and your captions.

As for my favorite type of cookie, give me good old fashioned chocolate chip any day. I also am a fan of gingersnaps. Like you and Eliza, I’ve almost never met a cookie I didn’t like. The only time I say no is if there are raisins involved – so no oatmeal raisin for me.

Girl!! I absolutely died laughing through this whole post!! When I hit the “unhinged jaw” section I laughed so hard Monk asked me what was so funny!! haha!! Those pictures are absolutely CLASSIC!! Oh my, sweet Eliza is just something else! She DOES melt my butter… ::sigh::

Oh yea..and cookies. Never met one I didn’t like. Well except for the raisin ones. Raisins are of the devil and do not belong in cookies. That’s all.

first of all – that “on cue” smile is ADORABLE!

    and secondly…

can i have a cookie too?

oh and ps. when you substitute honey for sugar in a recipe, how exactly do you do that? i would love to “healthify” my cookies, so as to thereby justify eating six at a time.

not that i would ever do such a thing…

hudson calls ANYTHING that is “extremely good” a cookie. hearing that my garlic pasta is a “cookie” is the highest compliment a cook could receive.

he and eliza would be good kitchen companions.

Hmm… I can’t say I have ever met a cookie I didn’t like either. But my favorite is probably a chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven. Oh, now guess what I want. :-)

Love, love, love the photos! You have a very adorable cookie eating partner!

Lawd.. she was channeling a boa constrictor in that one shot! That is totally hilarious! And I love the crinkly-nosed smile. LOVE it! As for me and cookies, gosh, that’s hard. I love the Girl Scout Samoa cookies; they make me think of “Hollywood Bars” or something like that, that were out when I was a kid. And wedding cookies..the ones that melt in your mouth and are covered with powdered sugar..mmmmm.. AND, really good shortbread. I gotta stop now. I need a cookie!

Eliza is adorable! My fave cookie would probably be snickerdoodle but honestly,I am much like Eliza in that there are not many cookies I do not like. Question…how much honey do you use in your PB cookies? BTW, if you can’t email me just leave a comment on my blog.:)
