Those pictures are beautiful! They look like something out of a military magazine. Thanks for sharing.

I'd like to know what the book is too. Sounds like a good one!

I'm with Megan, post what you want when you feel an authentic urge. Who cares if it's fluffy or maybe even too honest or anywhere in between. It's your space. It's your story. For YOU. Not for us. Although I think we're happy to be along for the ride second hand :)

Every time I feel like a "have to" blog or "should" blog my brain empties. That's when I abandon my page sometimes for weeks at a time, lol. I actually keep a private page now just for me where I write and write without filters or caring about punctuation or cohesiveness or subject matter. It's my place to sort out my thoughts. Most everything on Married to the Military starts as a rough draft over there. 75% of it sits there indefinitely. Every once in awhile an entry makes it way over to my public blog when I feel like sharing (the marriage post awhile back did), but first and foremost it's *mine*- it's not written for anybody else but me. I find if I don't start out that way the "public me" begins to slide into areas I don't care for.

For the record, I don't think your blog is fluffy at all. It reads as very genuine.

One more thing- I think you might be on to something with the whole turning 30 thing. I feel like my life has been turned on it's head over the last year or so! My way of thinking, my perception of myself, my goals for the future. God has been doing some *work* on me that's been so necessary...That's all GOOD though! Gosh, how boring would our existence be if we never asked ourselves the tough questions or took time to re-evaluate our lives from time to time? I think I'd end up very regretful at the end of days if I never allowed myself those growing pains! So let that shifting take place girl! You'll be better for it in the end!

oh my goodness. I wish I was there to show you how to use it and some simple things you can make (start SIMPLE - things that require only folding a piece of fabric over once or twice and sewing a straight line).

1) learn how to wind the bobbin
2) learn how to thread it
first two steps are essential and are in your manual
3)learn how to backstitch to secure a stitch (this is easy...you start an inch or so DOWN from where you want to actually start sewing, find the "reverse" button on your machine and stitch in reverse for that stitch)

Have fun searching blogland for easy fun cute tutorials. soule mama, angry chicken, simple sparrow, etc, etc...

I love it.

J and I are the opposite. We spend evenings together; the morning is for the girls (I'm not a morning person). Every a.m. after he gets out of the shower, the girls sit in the bathroom or master closet while he shaves, brushes his teeth, picks out clothes for the day...my side of the bed faces the doorway and I get to watch their sweet faces stare up at him and ask him however many questions they can squeeze in before he leaves. It's sweet. These pics remind me of that view into my bathroom every morning.

LOVE how you've captured your kiddos time with Daddy. Seems like it should be printed and put in a small frame next to the door or perched next to the keys...
